Marilynn Sultana, M.D., F.A.C.S. Cataract & Eye Consultant of Michigan
Dr. Sultana is a native of Detroit and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wayne State University. She earned her M.D. degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1982. After serving her internship year at St. John Hospital in Detroit, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute where she was appointed Chief Resident. Dr. Sultana is currently on staff at St. John Macomb Hospital, William Beaumont Hospital and Straith Hospital for Special Surgery and the Eye Surgery Center of Michigan.
Dr. Sultana is Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was one of the first women certified by the American Board of Eye Surgeons in the sub-specialty of cataract/lens implant. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the Michigan State Medical Society, Macomb County Medical Society, Michigan Ophthalmological Society and Anthony Wayne Society.
In practice since 1986 in the Detroit area, Dr. Sultana has special interest in small incision, no-stitch cataract/lens implant surgery. She joined Cataract and Eye Consultants of Michigan in 1996. Dr. Sultana is married with three children and enjoys long distance running and cycling.
