Dr. Salter’s focus is in general ophthalmology for all ages, with a special interest in cataract surgery, as well as in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, and laser surgery.

Dr. Salter graduated from the University of Michigan with High Distinction and received her medical degree from New York University. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island, serving as chief resident. During her residency, she had several ophthalmic publications. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Salter is also a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She is also on staff as an attending at William Beaumont Hospital, and St. John Hospital.

Dr. Amanda Salter was born and raised in the metro Detroit area. She practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Massachusetts for 2 years prior to returning to Michigan in 2016. Outside of work, Dr. Salter enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and yoga.

Dr. Salter also has a special interest in addressing the aesthetic concerns of all of her patients. She offers neuromodulators (ex. Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport) and dermal fillers with the goal of a natural and well-rested appearance. After an aesthetic consultation, Dr. Salter will take into account your individual concerns and needs, and create a unique treatment plan.
